The Shaw Ocean Discovery Centre is a champion for the Salish Sea, providing visitors with interactive exhibits, hands-on learning and creatures galore - including touch tanks full of starfish, anemones and more.

Since 2009, the Shaw Ocean Discovery Centre has educated countless guests who have visited the facility in Sidney. If you can't stop chatting about crabs, fish and marine mammals, you should share your love of the ocean by becoming an Oceaneer. Adult and youth Oceaneers can assist visitors by explaining displays, helping out with special events and more. Adult training is held six times per year and youth training, for those 13 years and up, is held four times per year.

This is a great way to learn more about the ocean around us. The commitment is five hours per month for youth and about 2.5 hours per week for adults.

Training will be provided. If you want to help out at the aquarium of the Salish Sea, please call 250-665-7511.
