Two armed robberies in Langford that occurred only days apart might be linked, police say.

Last Tuesday about 9 p.m., a man wearing a red plastic mask and carrying what appeared to be a handgun entered the Glen Lake Inn Liquor Store at 2668 Sooke Rd. and demanded money from a clerk. She complied and he fled on foot.

On Saturday, just after 10 p.m., a man wearing a paintball mask entered the Waterwheel Liquor Store at 2778 Peatt Rd. through the rear door. He appeared to be carrying a handgun and demanded cash.

The clerk refused and the attempted robbery was interrupted when a customer entered through the front door. The robber left.

The man in both cases was described as white, about six feet tall, and 170 or 180 pounds with a medium build.

No one was injured in either robbery.
