Nanaimo RCMP have arrested a woman in connection with the robbery of a jewelry store in Nanaimo last fall, but another suspect remains at large.

Tamara Prince, 41, who was wanted for possession of stolen property and theft over $5,000, was arrested on Dec. 21. She has been released and is expected to appear in court on Jan. 7.

Warrants for Robert Hawkins, 45, who was also allegedly involved in the robbery, are still active. He has been charged with robbery, assault with a weapon, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, possession of stolen property and theft over $5000.

Hawkins has not been apprehended. He is described as white, six-foot-one and heavy set.

The charges stem from the Oct. 2, 2024, robbery of a jewelry store in North Nanaimo in which the owner was hit with bear spray and thousands of dollars worth of items were stolen.

Another man, James Stoppard, 39, was arrested at the scene and taken into custody.

Police ask anyone who knows where Hawkins is to call the Nanaimo RCMP non-emergency line at 250-754-2345.
