Broadmead Care has announced that three residents at its Veterans Memorial Lodge have tested positive for COVID-19.

One is in the A2 area and two are in the B3 area, the agency said in a notice on its website.

All are being isolated in their rooms. Island Health has been notified and its outbreak precautions are being followed.

Residents and staff in the affected areas are being checked twice a day for symptoms.

Staff movement is limited whenever possible, congregate dining is on hold, and social visitors were suspended as of Friday. Essential visits will continue, the organization said.

The Chatterton Way facility is home to 225 seniors and veterans.

This information follows Island Health’s announcement this weekend that five new COVID-19 outbreaks were declared in Victoria long-term care homes.
