Chalk One Up for sa国际传媒: Children of all ages can draw what sa国际传媒 means to them on Yates Street between Blanshard and Douglas.

Magic of sa国际传媒 Day: Victoria's top magicians perform, Market Square, noon-3 p.m.

Open Doors to History: Explore many interesting and beautiful buildings up close, 11 a.m.-3 p.m.

Living Flag: 1,200 people can create sa国际传媒's largest living flag. Be at the legislature lawn at 11 a.m., receive your free T-shirt for the 2 p.m. flag.

Free Historic Walking Tours and Horse Drawn Trolley Tours: Pre-register for the walking tours at 250-386-2238.

Provincial Heritage Fair: Crystal Garden, 715 Douglas St., 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Free.

All aboard HMCS Nanaimo: Explore the inner workings of a navy ship as the military hosts an open house aboard HMCS Nanaimo, a maritime coastal defence vessel, at Ship Point in the Inner Harbour. 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Free.

WEST SHORE

Fort Rodd Hill National Historic Site. 21 Gun Salute, performances by the Band of the 5th (sa国际传媒) Field Regiment, the Castle Cary Pipes and Drums, the West Shore Concert Band and percussion ensemble, Organized Khaos. Children's activities and a Thrifty Foods birthday cake. 11:30 a.m.-4 p.m. Free double-decker shuttle bus service from Juan de Fuca park and ride. Free admission, no pets permitted. SOOKE

Sooke River Campground. Raft-building race, logging sports shows, dog demonstration shows, adult pie-eating contest, Otter Point fire department hose ball game, Sooke fire department extrication show, crafters and food booths, and bingo. Bands play at 6 p.m. Fireworks at 10:30 p.m. Free shuttle bus from the high school and the town pole in the centre of Sooke. Gates open at noon.

DUNCAN

sa国际传媒 Forest Discovery Centre. Free admission to the centre for sa国际传媒 Day. Events include train rides all day, a bouncy castle for kids, live entertainment, face painting, a trivia contest and a heritage play. Open from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

NATIONAL PARKS

Free admission

The federal government is marking sa国际传媒 Day by offering free admission to all national parks, national marine conservation areas and Parks sa国际传媒-run national historic sites. The offer applies to 42 parks, three marine conservation areas and 162 historic sites across the country. On Vancouver Island, national sites that usually charge a fee are Pacific Rim National Park, Fisgard Lighthouse and Fort Rodd Hill.
