Police say no criminality or foul play were involved in an incident where a man in his late 70s drove his car over the embankment at Clover Point on Saturday.
Victoria police spokesperson Griffen Hohl said Monday police have concluded their investigation into the incident, where a red sedan crashed onto the rocks at Clover Point, ending up on its side near the ocean on Saturday afternoon.
The driver was transported to the hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, Hohl said.
The crash occurred shortly after 3 p.m., just hours after hundreds of people were at Clover Point watching the Swiftsure International Yacht Race.
Witnesses told CHEK News that the car “flew forward” from where it was parked and onto the rocks.
The vehicle was hauled off the shoreline by 5 p.m. by two tow trucks.
