RCMP have arrested a 45-year-old man in a killing going back more than 13 years.
Forty-eight-year old Sandy Charlie disappeared from his home in Lytton in December of 1999, but his remains weren't discovered until September of last year, when they were found in a concealed grave.
The Provincial Unsolved Homicide Unit was called in to take over the investigation.
The RCMP says that probe has led to a manslaughter charge against William Robert Smith, who was arrested in Langley.
The death turned out to be a double tragedy for the Charlie family when the victim's son, Sandy Cleghorn, died in the Fraser River while searching for his father in January of 2000.
