VICTORIA, sa¹ú¼Ê´«Ã½: DECEMBER 2, 2020-Saanich Peninsula Hospital in Victoria, sa¹ú¼Ê´«Ã½ December 2, 2020. (DARREN STONE, TIMES COLONIST). For City story by Stand Alone.

Saanich Peninsula Hospital was on Island Health’s active-outbreak list for COVID-19 on Thursday.

The number of cases was not revealed.

An outbreak is declared when three or more cases involving patients or staff in a confined area or unit are discovered within a designated time frame, the Island Health website says.

The site says that in the event of an outbreak, signs are posted at key locations.

Mask mandates have been in effect at all Island Health patient-care facilities, including hospitals, since Oct. 3 — the same day a COVID outbreak was declared in an acute care-wing of Victoria General Hospital.
