A 25-year-old man drove through fields adjacent to two Saanich schools minutes after the end of the lunch hour on Thursday.
The Saanich man was turning left from a southbound lane of the Trans-sa国际传媒 Highway onto McKenzie Avenue when he lost control of his vehicle and crashed into a vehicle heading west on McKenzie. The Saanich man's vehicle mounted the curb and he drove 200 metres through the field below Spectrum Elementary and St. Joseph's schools before hitting a tree. Saanich police said the crash is still under investigation.
