A Metchosin homeowner escaped uninjured when fire consumed an older home's main floor and second storey, collapsing the roof, on Rocky Point Road yesterday morning. Metchosin firefighters extinguished the blaze, which started at about 9 a.m. The cause of the fire and extent of the damage are not yet known.
