The Ministry of Transportation has issued a reminder that a daytime closing of a section of the Trans-sa国际传媒 Highway near Ladysmith begins Monday.
Drainage work and repairs of the road base will close one of the southbound lanes between Thicke and Edgelow roads for about two weeks during the day, but the highway will be fully open overnight and on weekends.
At the end of the two-week period, a full closing of the southbound slow lane will be in place for five days to complete the repairs.
The work was planned after flooding from area drains affected the road’s base materials, the ministry said.
The timing of the construction was based on weather and expected lower traffic volume in advance of the summer travel season.
Drivers are asked to observe traffic-management personnel and signs in the construction zone.
