Victoria police say an out-of-town motorist was admiring the view of the Fairmont Empress hotel when he struck a pedestrian in a Government Street crosswalk this week. The driver, a visitor from Alberta, was heading north on Government Thursday in front of the Empress when the pedestrian was hit. The man suffered minor injuries. The driver was ticketed for failing to yield to a pedestrian.
