Liberal leader Michael Ignatieff will speak at Crystal Gardens in Victoria on Sunday.
Although Ignatieff has paid several visits to the capital region over the last year or so, local Liberals -including Ren脙漏e Hetherington, running in Saanich-Gulf Islands, Lillian Szpak in Esquimalt-Juan de Fuca, and Chris Causton in Victoria -are looking forward to the boost they hope to get from their leader's visit. "He's been here a lot and he's given me a lot since I was nominated and he's given me incredible support," Hetherington said Tuesday.
Conservative leader Stephen Harper and NDP leader Jack Layton have already made campaign stops in Victoria, and Green party leader Elizabeth May lives in the area.
The time of Ignatieff's appearance has not been set but it is expected to be about 5: 30 p.m., said Brad Zubyk, federal Liberal communications director.
