A bus that burst into flames Thursday on Keating Cross Road passed inspection in May, said Forrest Owens, assistant chief of Central Saanich Fire Department.
Tour buses are inspected at ICBC facilities every six months, he said.
The fire started in the 1997 Metro Trans bus when oil leaked from the engine onto a manifold, Owens said.
The bus is owned by Hana Coach Ltd. of Coquitlam and operated by TourClick of Vancouver.
