Motorists are being encouraged to drive with caution as rain turns to snow in higher elevations on Vancouver Island.
Road maintenance contractor Emcon Services Inc. South Island Division from the Cowichan Valley just after 7 a.m. Monday of crews plowing snow and salting in the Goldstream Heights area, asking motorists to “drive to conditions.”
Earlier Monday, the road maintenance contractor posted video showing “rain mixed with wet, light snow” but noted it was not accumulating.
Emcon says its salt-truck drivers are monitoring the Malahat.
