The Oosterdam, a Holland America Line vessel, was 80 nautical miles northwest of the northern tip of Vancouver Island when it reported that the 75-yearold man had severe stomach pain.

He was picked up shortly after midnight and taken to 19 Wing Comox, where sa国际传媒 Ambulance transferred him to St.

Joseph's General Hospital.

The man was in stable condition when the Cormorant picked him up, said Capt. Alexandre Cadieux, public affairs officer for 19 Wing. A Buffalo aircraft helped with the operation by providing top cover.
