A worker sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene after a planned construction blast on Bear Mountain ended up being bigger than expected.
Langford Fire Chief Chris Aubrey said the explosion happened just after 11 a.m. near Bear Mountain Parkway and Marble Place, leading to multiple 911 calls.
No major damage was caused to nearby structures, he said.
