One person is dead after a house fire in Comox early Wednesday.
Comox Fire Rescue was alerted about 4:30 a.m. to what was first reported as a brush fire.
Crews arrived on scene near the Park Par 3 Golf Course on Anderton Road to find a fire in a two-storey home, said Assistant Fire Chief Rick Shelton.
“We attended there with pretty much all of our equipment and were able to extinguish the fire reasonably quickly without it spreading into the forest around it,” Shelton said.
“But unfortunately, by the time we got there, it had been burning for quite some time and it was fully involved end-to-end.”
A body was found during a search of the home, he said.
The investigation is ongoing and includes Comox Valley RCMP and the sa国际传媒 Coroners Service.
