Police release photo of suspect vehicle in Comox hit-and-run

Comox Valley RCMP have released a photo of a suspect vehicle in a Monday hit-and-run in which a skateboarder was hit by a vehicle and thrown over the hood.

The 60-year-old victim ­was seriously hurt but police said he is expected to recover.

Police were called about 5:20 p.m. after the skateboarder was hit near a Gas N Go station in the 3000-block of Comox Road.

The driver got out of the vehicle and offered to take the man to hospital, but drove away when he heard sirens approaching.

He was described by witnesses as in his 50s and about six feet tall with an average build and light-brown thinning or balding hair.

The vehicle, which could have sustained scratches or small dents, was described as a black, mid-2010s Chrysler 200.
