Police seek witnesses after driver crashes into Sidney liquor store

Police are seeking witnesses and dashcam video after a vehicle crashed into the sa国际传媒 Liquor Store in a Sidney shopping plaza on Wednesday, injuring several people.

Three people were taken to hospital by ambulance after the crash, sa国际传媒 Emergency Health Services said.

Ren Baricaua, manager of the adjacent Tim Hortons in the Beacon Plaza on Beacon Avenue, said his staff saw what happened and one called 911. They could see people on the ground, he said. A photo on social media showed the car involved with a damaged front end and bricks knocked out of the building.

Sidney-North Saanich RCMP said they are seeking dashcam video of the area at the time of the crash ­— about 2:30 p.m.

Police have said they are working to determine the cause of the crash, and that alcohol was not a factor.
