Victoria police are looking for anyone who was threatened by a man carrying bear spray early Saturday in the 1500-block of Fort Street, near Belmont Avenue.
Police responded to the area about 6 a.m. after a report that a man with bear spray was approaching motorists and threatening to stab and spray them.
The man fled on foot but was located by officers with help from witnesses.
Police said the man assaulted and threatened two officers while being taken into custody.
The man was held in custody for a court appearance.
Officers are hoping to speak with the driver of a silver vehicle, possibly a woman, who was threatened by the man but left before police arrived.
They would also like to speak with any other victims or witnesses.
