Those living in and near a Langford apartment building where a woman was sexually assaulted in a stairwell on Monday night are being warned to remain vigilant and immediately report any suspicious activity to police.
West Shore RCMP said the assault by an unknown man occurred July 22 at about 11 p.m. at the apartment building at 2763 Spencer Rd.
The victim was injured and received medical care, said police, who are asking anyone who has home video surveillance or dash camera footage and lives within a two-block radius of the building to contact them by calling 250-474-2264.
The suspect is described as a 20-to-30-year-old man with light-coloured skin, approximately 5’7 to 5’9 tall, and wearing a black hoodie with the hood up over his head and black pants
West Shore RCMP Special Victims Unit is investigating, along with forensic unit investigators. Additional officers have canvassed the apartment and surrounding area for witnesses and video surveillance, police said.
