One person was arrested after a fight near Royal Oak Shopping Centre Wednesday night led to an individual being taken to hospital.
The victim was treated and released a short time later.
Saanich police said they responded to a report of a group altercation about 7 p.m. and arrived to find it had already broken up, and one of the people involved in the fight had fled.
He was arrested just after 11 p.m., and police said they will be recommending a charge of assault with a weapon.
The type of weapon has not been released.
The suspect was scheduled for a Thursday court appearance .
