Three flown to hospital after head-on crash on Sooke Road

An eastbound 2001 Chevrolet Monte Carlo apparently crossed the centre line and collided head-on with a westbound taxi carrying a youth passenger, police say

Three people were transported by air ambulance to hospital with serious injuries after a head-on crash on Sooke Road early Wednesday.

West Shore RCMP said officers responded at about 5 a.m. to a report of a two-vehicle crash in the 4900-block of Sooke Road, near Impala Road near the border with Metchosin. sa国际传媒 Health Services and Metchosin Fire also responded.

Police said a 41-year-old woman driving a 2001 Chevrolet Monte Carlo eastbound on Sooke Road apparently crossed the centre line and collided head-on with a westbound taxi operated by a 65-year-old driver transporting a youth passenger.

“All parties suffered serious injuries and were taken to hospital via ambulance,” said Cpl. Nancy Saggar.

Sooke Road was temporarily closed for about two hours in both directions for almost three kilometres from Gillespie and Kangaroo roads to allow emergency crews to respond.

Police continue to investigate the crash.
