Another 19 people have died in British Columbia due to complications from COVID-19, including three in the Island Health region.
The Health Ministry also reported 4,075 new cases over a three-day period, although it has said that rate is likely higher because of testing limitations for COVID-19. Of the new confirmed cases, 575 were in Island Health, bringing the known active cases in the region to 1,354.
Eight more health-care facilities are experiencing outbreaks, including Kelowna General Hospital, for a total of 58 outbreaks, most of them in long-term care homes.
Four acute-care hospitals on the Island have reported COVID outbreaks: Royal Jubilee Hospital, Victoria General Hospital, Nanaimo Regional General Hospital and Cowichan District Hospital.
No new outbreaks were reported in Island Health on Monday, but three previous ones — at Mount St. Mary, Oyster Harbour and Parkwood Court — have been declared over.
There are still outbreaks at 21 Island Health other facilities, according to an update from the province. They are:

The province had previously said that there was an Outbreak at Amica Douglas House, but there was not.
In the two weeks ending Jan. 27, more than 69 per cent of people admitted to hospital had been fully vaccinated.
Just over 90 per cent of eligible people 12 and older have received both doses of vaccine, while 49.1 per cent have had their booster shot.
