Two driftwood sculptures stolen from Esquimalt Lagoon recovered

The sculptures of a squirrel and kingfisher were recovered, but the hummingbird is still missing

West Shore RCMP say they have found two of three driftwood sculptures that were stolen from the beach at Esquimalt Lagoon — one depicting a squirrel and the other a kingfisher.

The third, a hummingbird, is still missing, while a fourth sculpture of an owl was damaged.

The sculptures were recovered thanks to tips from the public, police said.

No arrests have been made.

Police continue to investigate and are asking anyone with information to call West Shore RCMP at 250-474-2264, or report anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
