Wilson鈥檚 restarting bus service to Tofino, up-Island, ferry

Bus service for trips up-Island and to the Lower Mainland is coming back starting Friday.

The Wilson鈥檚 Group of Companies is gradually restarting services, with physical distancing in effect:

鈥 The sa国际传媒 Ferries sa国际传媒or, serving downtown Victoria to downtown Vancouver will run Friday through Monday.

鈥 The Vancouver Island sa国际传媒or service, running from downtown Victoria to Campbell River.

鈥 Tofino Bus, providing a downtown Victoria link to Tofino and Ucluelet.

Additional weekday runs may be added later this summer, the company said in a Wednesday statement.

sa国际传媒 residents will receive a 25聽per cent discount on tickets.

John Wilson, chief executive of the Wilson鈥檚 group, said: 鈥淎s our province begins to reopen to domestic travel, we are starting to see a greater demand for some of our services.

鈥淲e are hopeful that with enough support from local travellers, as well as the continuation of government programs, that we can continue to operate well into the fall and winter.鈥

Seating will be spaced out with one person per row or two from the same household, up to a maximum capacity of 50 per cent.

As on sa国际传媒 Ferries, passengers are expected to wear a face covering for their mouth and nose if they can not maintain a two-metre distance from each other.

No food and drink is allowed on board and washrooms are closed.
