The case of a man accused of killing an Alberta couple two years ago has been put over until Sept. 18.

Travis Vader is charged with first-degree murder in the deaths of Lyle and Marie McCann of St. Albert, a city on the northeast edge of Edmonton.

A date was to be set Tuesday in Edson for his preliminary hearing, but his lawyer requested more time to review evidence.

Vader did not appear in court himself.

The McCanns were last seen alive on July 3, 2010, leaving their home to visit family in British Columbia.

Their burned-out motorhome was found two days later west of Edmonton but their bodies have not been found.
