WINNIPEG — A man who is accused of killing a Winnipeg woman eight years ago laughed as he tried to plead guilty to second-degree murder Monday.

Traigo Andretti is already serving a life-sentence for killing and dismembering his wife on Hanson Island.

He was charged in the Winnipeg murder while in jail in sa¹ú¼Ê´«Ã½, and was brought back to the Manitoba capital to face charges of killing Myrna Letandre in 2006.

Andretti has refused to meet with a lawyer several times and told Judge Tim Preston he wants to plead guilty.

Letandre’s sister sobbed in the courtroom as the 38-year-old laughed while his case was discussed.

Andretti is scheduled to formally enter a guilty plea Sept. 10.
