OTTAWA — sa¹ú¼Ê´«Ã½'s annual inflation rate was two per cent in October, Statistics sa¹ú¼Ê´«Ã½ says. The agency also released rates for major cities, but cautioned that figures may have fluctuated widely because they are based on small statistical samples (previous month in brackets):
— St. John's, N.L.: 1.3 per cent (1.1)
— Charlottetown-Summerside: 1.7 per cent (1.4)
— Halifax: 1.8 per cent (1.2)
— Saint John, N.B.: 1.8 per cent (0.8)
— Quebec City: 1.4 per cent (1.2)
— Montreal: 2.0 per cent (1.8)
— Ottawa: 2.1 per cent (2.4)
— Toronto: 2.3 per cent (2.4)
— Thunder Bay, Ont.: 2.1 per cent (2.3)
— Winnipeg: 1.3 per cent (0.9)
— Regina: 2.0 per cent (0.8)
— Saskatoon: 1.7 per cent (0.8)
— Edmonton: 2.9 per cent (1.8)
— Calgary: 3.3 per cent (2.1)
— Vancouver: 2.2 per cent (1.7)
— Victoria: 2.0 per cent (1.9)
— Whitehorse: 2.2 per cent (1.8)
— Yellowknife: 2.4 per cent (1.2)
