A Kamloops teen who was reported missing Sunday evening has been found safely at Sun Peaks Resort.

Carson Hadwin was identified by family as the teen who went missing Sunday afternoon at the ski resort.

Kamloops RCMP confirmed Hadwin was found 鈥渟afe-and-sound鈥 Monday afternoon.

Just hours earlier, Alan Hobler of Kamloops Search-and-Rescue told Postmedia News the 14-year-old had taken a shuttle Sunday morning to the ski resort, and was last seen around 10:30 a.m. on Sunday on the skill hill.

Kamloops search-and-rescue was called around 6 p.m. to assist in the search when Hadwin failed to come home.

Hobler said Kamloops SAR had about 20 people scouring the mountain by helicopter, drone and on the ground for any sign of Hadwin since the search began Sunday.

Vancouver-based journalist Ash Kelly identified Hadwin as her cousin and asked the public to keep an eye out for the teen.

鈥淲e love this kid. He鈥檚 the BEST kind of kid,鈥 Kelly posted on Twitter on Monday morning.

鈥淎 news junkie, an outdoor kid, a mountain biker, a snowboarder and the best kind of family anyone could ask for.鈥

Later, around 12:30 p.m., Kelly tweeted that Hadwin had been found and was being evacuated from the mountain via helicopter.

鈥淚鈥檝e spoken with his family on the ground,鈥 she said. 鈥淗e will be given a full medical assessment by the trauma team upon landing. We are all so relieved.鈥
