IRVINE, Calif. — Ifunanyachi Achara and Jordan Perruzza scored to give Toronto FC a 2-1 win over Los Angeles FC in a pre-season MLS game Wednesday.
Achara opened the scoring in the 66th minute with Perruzza doubling the lead eight minutes later. Nathan Ordaz, a product of the LAFC academy, cut the deficit in the 84th minute.
The game saw the Toronto debut of newly signed Mexican international defender Carlos Salcedo. Former league MVP Sebastian Giovinco, looking to finish out his career back in TFC colours, also played.
Both played 45 minutes.
Bob Bradley, named as the first coach in LAFC history in July of 2017, took over as Toronto head coach and sporting director last November.
Perruzza also scored in TFC's first pre-season game, a 5-4 loss to the Los Angeles Galaxy on Saturday at Dignity Health Sports Park.
Toronto was scheduled to fly north after Wednesday's match. The club is slated to leave Toronto next Monday for Austin, Texas, where it will finish out training camp before kicking off the regular season Feb. 26 at FC Dallas.
Toronto is scheduled to play pre-season games against Austin, Chicago, Houston and Sporting Kansas City in Austin.
