FALUN, Sweden 鈥 Canadian Olivier Leveille finished ninth in the final individual World Cup cross-country ski race of the season.
Leveille, who turned 21 earlier this week, posted a time of 32 minutes 46.5 second in the 15-kilometre free technique race.
"I still can鈥檛 totally believe this happened," the resident of Sherbrooke, Que., said. "It is crazy,.
"A nice birthday gift. It is a perfect way to end the World Cup season.鈥
聽Antoine Cyr of Gatineau, Que, was 25th in 33:39.9. Philippe Boucher, of Levis, Que., finished 29th in 33:42.6 while Calgary鈥檚 Tom Stephen was 61st and Xavier McKeever, of Canmore, Alta., was 62nd.
In the women鈥檚 10-kilometre free technique race, Katherine Stewart-Jones of Chelsea, Que., was the top Canadian in 33rd (24:32.1). Dahria Beatty of Whitehorse finished 43rd (25:11.1) while Jasmine Drolet of Rossland, sa国际传媒, was 52nd (25:42.6).
