Collins has two goals, assist and Steelheads rout IceDogs

ST. CATHARINES, Ont. — Ty Collins had two goals and an assist to lead the Mississauga Steelheads to a 7-1 rout of the Niagara IceDogs in the Ontario Hockey League on Thursday.

ST. CATHARINES, Ont. — Ty Collins had two goals and an assist to lead the Mississauga Steelheads to a 7-1 rout of the Niagara IceDogs in the Ontario Hockey League on Thursday.

Ethan Del Mastro, James Hardie, Zakary Lavoie, Kai Schwindt, and Aidan Prueter also got goals for the Steelheads, who outshot Niagara 51-21.

Danil Gushchin scored the lone goal for the IceDogs. 

Collins scored his first short-handed at 5:57 of the first period, and found the net again at 4:16 of the third.

Joe Ranger turned aside 20 shots for Mississauga (8-4-1-1), while Tucker Tynan made 44 saves for the IceDogs (5-10-0-0).

BULLDOGS 10, PETES 6

PETERBOROUGH, Ont. -- Jan Mysak and Navrin Mutter each had a pair of goals in Hamilton's victory over Peterborough. 

Lawson Sherk, George Diaco, Logan Morrison, Patrick Thomas, Alex Pharand and Cole Brown also scored for the Bulldogs.

Tucker Robertson had a hat trick in the loss, while the Petes also got goals from Kaspars Ziemins, Sam Alfano and Joe Carroll.

Hamilton outshot Peterborough 43 to 24.

Marco Costantini stopped 18 shots for Hamilton (9-5-1-1). Tye Austin turned aside 19 shots, while Michael Simpson made 14 saves for the Petes (5-9-1-0).

OTTERS 7, SPITFIRES 4

Nolan Lalonde made 39 saves and Erie got goals from seven different players en route to a victory over Windsor.

Brendan Hoffmann, Elias Cohen, Taeo Artichuk, Cameron Lowe, Brendan Sellan, Brett Bressette and Christian Kyrou all scored for the Otters (4-9-1-0), who scored three unanswered goals in the third period. 

Kyle Mcdonald and Wyatt Johnston had two goals apiece for Windsor (6-6-0-2), while Kyle Downey made 20 saves.

BATTALION 3, 67'S 0

NORTH BAY, Ont. -- Kyle Jackson scored a pair of goals and assisted on the third as North Bay blanked Ottawa.

Brandon Coe scored the other goal for the Battalion (10-6-0-1), while Joe Vrbetic stopped all 23 shots he faced.

Will Cranley made 24 saves on the night for Ottawa (10-6-0-1).
