WINNIPEG — Conor Geekie's 19th goal of the season at 19:34 of the second period proved to be the game-winner as the Winnipeg Ice beat the Brandon Wheat Kings 4-3 in the Western Hockey League on Friday.
Mikey Milne, Owen Pederson and Carson Lambos also scored as the Ice (42-9-3-2).
Tyson Zimmer scored twice for the Wheat Kings (28-23-3-2), who have now lost five straight games. Rylan Roersma had the other goal.Â
Zimmer's first goal of the game in the second period ended a streak of 325 minutes and 17 seconds of shutout hockey for the Ice at home.
Daniel Hauser made 18 saves for the win, while Ethan Kruger stopped 34 shots for the Wheat Kings.
