Jack Knox鈥檚 column was amusing, as usual, but he left out an important group in his caricature 鈥� the incumbents.
The mayor, who, having experienced power for four years, has succumbed to the 鈥渟wollen head鈥� syndrome, and believes she can dispense with discussion and debate, and imposes her interests, as she always knows what鈥檚 best. The career councillor, representing special groups and interests, who doesn鈥檛 rock the boat, and goes quietly along with the majority vote.
Both groups are vitally interested in creating a well-organized campaign to get re-elected and stay in power.
