There was a lovely photo on the front page of Sunday鈥檚 sa国际传媒, depicting a member of HMCS Regina鈥檚 crew 鈥減oised for action,鈥� under the headline: 鈥淥n guard for thee.鈥�
On guard against what? Jody Wilson-Raybould? The Venezuelan navy? Military spending is currently budgeted at about $28 billion, on its way to a planned $70 billion. Meanwhile, federal funding to address the greatest threat to human security, human degradation of the environment, has remained static for years at about $1.5 billion. Perhaps we should consider tweaking priorities a bit.
