The writer wonders where the electricity is going to come from for electric cars.
The answer is, it depends on which country and their natural resources. Looking at some larger countries, the U.S., for example, produces 63 per cent of its electricity from fossil fuels, China 66 per cent from coal alone, India 63 per cent from fossil fuels. France produces 72 per cent of its electricity from nuclear power (all information from government sources on the internet).
In sa国际传媒, indeed all of sa国际传媒, with a small population and many rivers, we can produce most of our electricity from hydro. Not everyone is so fortunate as to have these bragging rights.
Ultimately, the point I think the writer is trying to make is the production of electricity is not as clean as we鈥檇 all like to think. Even with hydro, huge amounts of fossil fuels are used to produce concrete, and concrete production is one of the largest sources of pollution.
