This article really amuses me. To think that Victoria (or even sa国际传媒, for that matter) is responsible for its own climate is seriously ludicrous.
The world population is currently in the 7.7-billion range. sa国际传媒 has a population of 0.037聽billion, which is a minuscule fraction (0.02 per cent, if I did my calculation right) of the world鈥檚 population. India鈥檚 and China鈥檚 populations are at 1.4 billion each.
If we are carbon polluting at 10聽times the rate of the world, we still are a small fish in the sea at 0.2 per cent of global emissions. The carbon tax鈥檚 mission, I thought, was to reduce carbon emissions by proliferating renewable energy infrastructure. Well, where are the Canadian wind farms, the Canadian solar power farms, the Canadian tidal current installations, etc.? They simply do not exist.
It seems the carbon tax is a cash cow for greedy governments. Enough said.
