I believe there are certain routes where free or subsidized public transit would work, especially if the goal is to encourage people out of their vehicles.
If the politicians can get free transit running on the E&N right-of-way between Langford and Victoria, let鈥檚 do it. With the plan to increase seating to 8,000 at the Westhills Stadium, out-of-town visitors would have easy access from their hotel in Victoria to the stadium that is located right on the rail line.
With sa国际传媒 Ferries exploring options for passenger ferry service between Victoria and the fast-growing communities on the capital region鈥檚 West Shore, there seems to be an increased demand finally to get transit moving more efficiently between these communities.
As a longtime Victoria resident, free transit has a certain appeal to getting me out of my car.
