I鈥檓 afraid View Royal Mayor David Screech has had his head in the sand on this one. For years, chartered banks have had procedures in place to detect money laundering, and in view of recent newsworthy developments, the procedures won鈥檛 be going away any time soon. In fact, they have undoubtedly intensified. It is called due diligence.
As with most 鈥減olicies and procedures,鈥� they are meant to protect and steward. Unless they were unduly rude to him, he should not be expecting 鈥渁 genuine apology鈥� from the bank in question.
