Beacon Hill Park is being neglected

What has happened to our beautiful Beacon Hill Park? Suddenly the barricades make sense. If access is difficult, then maybe we Victorians will fail to notice that our precious gem has been severely neglected. Enough already.

Enough already. We are supposed to be the Garden City in "the best place on earth." The weeds are out of control along roadways in and out of the city and the boulevards are overrun.

But Beacon Hill Park? It's shocking. Dead trees, shrubs and ferns; unkempt green space, unedged and unweeded flowerbeds. Unbelievable.

We will be taking our out-of-province guests out of Victoria to spend their holiday dollars. I'm too embarrassed to show them the city we have been bragging about for the past 26 years.
