Choose a new route for the pipeline

It's a case of locking the barn door after the horse has gone.

It is plain to see the economic benefit that the pipeline would bring, but it is equally plain to see that the route is the wrong one.

It is obvious that regardless of how sophisticated repairs to oil-pipeline breaks have become, the fact remains that this pipeline is projected to go over at least two mountain ranges and numerous streams in deep snow for half the year in a pristine wilderness area. No one with the best of good intentions can be expected to reach a pipeline leak anywhere on the sa国际传媒 route before immeasurable damage has been done. And Enbridge's record is poor.

Choose a new route beside a highway or rail line, and damn the cost.
