Re: 鈥淭rump鈥檚 rise as ominous sign,鈥 Jan. 15.
I can鈥檛 believe Chris Hedges can equate the Christian church and U.S. President Donald Trump with fascism.
Isn鈥檛 it fascism when students won鈥檛 let a conservative speaker talk on campus? Isn鈥檛 it fascism when a member of Congress and his family are threatened in a restaurant? Isn鈥檛 it fascism when wearing a MAGA cap will have the barista refuse you service?
It is similar to Nazi Germany鈥檚 brownshirts, when people were threatened with violence because someone didn鈥檛 like their politics or their religion.
Although I really don鈥檛 know what church he is talking about that supported Trump, he must know it is illegal for a church to get involved with U.S. politics. They can lose their tax status, so he can turn them in to the Internal Revenue Service.
I do agree there is fascism in the U.S. and it is being fuelled and condoned by the Democratic Party and the U.S. media.
