Re: 鈥淒iabetic passenger told not to eat on bus despite fears of seizure,鈥 Jan.聽17.
I was appalled and distressed to read of the insensitive and potentially dangerous actions of the sa国际传媒 Transit driver who refused to allow a 鈥渂rittle鈥 Type 1 diabetic to eat from a covered container while on his bus. The fact that her glucose level had dropped into a serious range and that she tried to explain her situation to him makes it all the more upsetting.
As a retired registered nurse and the wife of a Type 1 鈥渂rittle鈥 diabetic, I am aware of how quickly this sort of low-blood-sugar situation can escalate into a serious medical emergency.
Perhaps the driver concerned would benefit from some basic first-aid training and also use some basic common sense.
