Folks who intend to vote in favour of retaining the first-past-the-post system should carefully consider not voting at all for the three proportional-representation choices. To do so would just give cover to the NDP-Green alliance鈥檚 possibly successful attempt to gain election for life, and install a system where the electorate will never again get an opportunity to 鈥渧ote the bums out.鈥�
If enough people vote for one of the PR choices in numbers approaching 50 per cent, the government will be able to claim legitimacy for the whole odoriferous process, 鈥渘eutral arbiter鈥� or not. Why chance giving support to people gaming the system (extremely well, by the way)?
