Re: 鈥淗organ, Weaver whip up rally for proportional representation,鈥 column Oct. 24.
It鈥檚 beyond odd that Premier John Horgan touts the past 15 months of minority government as an example of what proportional representation can bring about. Horgan and NDP Leader Andrew Weaver aren鈥檛 in bed together because of PR. Their alliance was made possible under our current first-past-the-post electoral system. So for Horgan and Weaver to moan that FPTP doesn鈥檛 work flies in the face of logic.
Worse than their confused thinking is their deliberately confusing, half-baked referendum question that asks us to take a leap of faith on a system that won鈥檛 be clear until after the referendum.
Talk about a buying a pig in a poke. Their claptrap about PR making every vote count is drivel. Let鈥檚 say Johnny Whackdoodle seeks election. Will a vote for Whackdoodle count one iota more under PR than under FPTP?
