Hold fossil-fuel strike in January, not July

The commentary suggested the fossil-fuel industry run a one-day rotating strike on July 1, miming the post-office job action, to draw the attention of Canadians to this important resource. It鈥檚 hard to disagree, but perhaps a week-long strike in the middle of January would be more effective. It wouldn鈥檛 be long before everyone would plead to end the strike.

Is there any issue in sa国际传媒 that illustrates greater hypocrisy from government, alt-environmentalists and individuals?

Government officials travel all over with the use of fossil fuels. The sa国际传媒 on Saturday published a road map of the Christmas lights in Victoria, presumably suggesting we all hop in our cars and have a look. We individuals rely on fossil fuels daily from the foods we eat to transportation to home heating and much more.

Yet we all seem to think that we can generate enough power from alternative energies to replace fossil fuels. Dream on. Do some simple arithmetic.

Sure, let鈥檚 cut down, be more efficient, etc., but stop the hypocrisy and accept that fossil fuels are a vital part of our existence.
