I have every sympathy for homelessness and all its root causes. This includes underfunded mental-health care and drug use.

Why is my right to feel unsafe stigmatizing anyone? If I feel unsafe, it is my right to feel like that, and because someone else can feel safe on the same street does not make them more right.

Let鈥檚 keep it proportional. There are fights and one person has been stabbed to death due to mental-health issues.

I have a right for the police to speak up and present a view. After all, it is a democracy.

Why should I be demonized for expressing a sympathetic view, yet a view that expresses my fear?

Freedom of speech should not be muffled because we express a different opinion respectfully.
