Am I missing something? Why is the provincial government telling cities and towns what they can and cannot do on transportation?
I can鈥檛 get my head around why the province even has a say over ride-hailing. Shouldn鈥檛 it be the responsibility of cities and towns to make those decision without provincial interference? Shouldn鈥檛 it be cities and towns to issue the number of taxi licences needed to meet the needs of their community?
Well, it is not. That鈥檚 where the province steps in with its Passenger Transportation Board, which will have even more power with the NDP鈥檚 latest move on ride-hailing.
Enough with the red tape and the increased power of the PTB. We have way too much government in our face in BC. Get off the road and stop slowing down our economy.
